
Herbert Willerth
Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO)
Herbert Willerth was appointed Deputy CEO and
member of the Borealis Executive Board in 2008, taking over
additional responsibility for the Middle East and Asian
market.
In June 2000, Herbert Willerth was appointed member of the Borealis Executive Board as Executive Vice President Operations & Procurement, responsible for the safe and efficient operations of all manufacturing sites, Logistics, HSE and Quality.
Herbert Willerth was CEO of PCD Polymere (PCD) when the company merged into the Borealis Group in September 1998. He continued through May 2000 as CEO/Managing Director of Borealis’ Site Austria, and was responsible for the safe, efficient operation of Borealis’ manufacturing sites in Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Norway, Portugal and Sweden.
He had advanced in PCD for almost 30 years, from Quality Control chemist to Vice President for logistics & purchasing, then for technical services, then manufacturing, and eventually the top executive position, CEO. Along the way, he managed a number of restructuring and change programmes in the company.
Born in Austria in 1950, Herbert Willerth received his initial education in biochemistry, but he learned about polyolefins in PCD. He studied General Management at Johannes Kepler University in Austria and has completed the General Management Executive Program at Emory University in Atlanta, USA.
