REACH information for Suppliers

All Borealis manufacturing operations are certified and approved by local authority requirements, fulfilling local, national and European legislations.

Audits are performed on a regular basis by external bodies (including authorities) to be compliant with the strictly controlled conditions set by REACH.

Suppliers should be aware of our continuous improvement to our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System. Quality improvement initiatives are regularly implemented to support our approach to continuous improvement.

Borealis is a member of several Consortias and is working with the Industry Federation, European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC), to define the use of  registered chemical substances under the REACH regulation and to ensure that these defined uses are workable for Industry.

Intended uses of a substance can be distinguished between industrial, professional and consumer use, and are aimed to be categorised further. Target of this categorisation work is to group similar exposure scenarios into "use categories", which are intended to characterise the exposure during the uses(s) of a substance. Exposure scenarios describe the exposure pathways throughout the life cycle of a substance. In this process different exposure routes, duration and frequency are the most important elements.

As soon as we have acceptable exposure scenarios that completely fulfill all requirements of REACH, we will inform our stakeholders on our website.

If you are a non-EU based supplier to Borealis, you are asked to appoint an European based representative (called an Only Representative under the regulation) who handles the pre-registration and registration of your substance.
