Product Stewardship
Managing our products responsibly and ethically throughout their total life cycle
Borealis' Product Stewardship team focuses on the prevention of negative health effects and environmental disturbance due to the use of chemicals, over both the short and long terms. At Borealis, we ensure that our hydrocarbon and polymer products are:
- correctly classified, packed, and labeled according to regulations;
- supported with safety documents available for sales offices and customers;
- reported to the authorities according to regulations and requirements.
Compliance to end uses
Products that may affect people's health, such as those containing polymers, are controlled by international authorities. Due to the possible migration of polymers and their related additives into food, drinking water and pharmaceuticals, these substances are regulated and undergo random controls by relevant authorities.
Polymers and raw materials approved for the manufacture of food packaging, drinking-water pipes and for medicinal use have been carefully studied for possible adverse health effects. Borealis' Product Stewardship staff makes every effort to ensure that our products are in compliance with relevant legislation and applicable for their intended use.

Borealis banned substances
To even further protect the workers, consumers, and
the environment from hazardous substances Borealis decided to ban substances from
the use in Borealis products and
processes.
