Borealis in Belgium

An integral part of the company’s strategy to strengthen the competitiveness of its European polyolefins business

Belgium, at the commercial heart of Europe, has hosted Borealis production centres for more than 30 years.

The country’s knowledge-based economy has proven an ideal environment for Borealis, matching its own culture of innovation and giving access to a highly educated workforce.

Operating from three production sites, two of which are part of one of the world’s largest chemical industry complexes in the Port of Antwerp, we are close to many of our customers.

Kallo

Responsible community partner

Although Borealis’ focus is on developing innovative solutions that add value to customers’ products, we never lose sight of our responsibility to be a good neighbour to the Belgian communities in which we operate.  Therefore, as a raw material producer we take every opportunity to harmonise our relationship with the environment.

In Belgium, Borealis employs around 1,000 people at production sites in Beringen, Kallo and Zwijndrecht, and at the group’s service centre in Mechelen.
