Borealis in Brazil

Brazil, the most important economy of South America, has hosted Borealis production sites for more than 5 years.

It has proven an interesting environment for Borealis, matching its own culture of innovation and satisfying the country's petrochemical needs in a dynamic, growing market.

Operating from two production sites in Itatiba and Triunfo, which are in proximity to São Paulo and Porto Alegre, Borealis is also close to most of its customers.  Equally relevant, the company is located near the most important and used freeways, which provide for the efficient flow of incoming feedstock to our plants and the subsequent delivery of our plastics throughout Brazil and all of South America.

Itatiba is located only 80km from the most important city in Brazil, Sao Paulo.
Our plant at Triunfo is situated in a petrochemical hub and manufactures polypropylene (PP) compounds. 

In both our locations in Brazil, Borealis produces polypropylene (PP) compound through specific extruders with automatic formulation control system and special auxiliary equipments.

Our customers convert our products into dashboards, panels, doors, trims, dishwashers, refrigerators, to name a few.

At our compounding facility, we add a variety of different fillers to PP to create specialised plastics for the automotive and appliances industries.

We aim to be a leader in our industry in health, safety and environmental performance and we reflect this in our Management System.

Our HSE policy embraces the provision of a safe, healthy working environment for all employees and for the communities in which we operate. Moreover, we are committed to meeting legal requirements or exceeding them when they do not meet our standards.

A few examples are our Health Programme, that includes not only our employees but their families too, and the Internal Committee to Prevent Accidents that meets the law and increases the awareness for safety.
