What is good today, may not be good enough
tomorrow. We need to continuously improve – all the
time. The first step in getting better is to learn from our
mistakes. We want to understand what caused our customer
complaints and to prevent existing problems from
occuring again.
Often, we ‘solve’ a problem only to have it happen again. This is largely due to the fact that we are tackling the symptoms of the problem rather than the root cause. As a means to ensure that we focus on those root causes, Borealis has developed a five step improvement process known as The Borealis Way.
- The approach determines which factors are important
- The Key Performance Indicators measure performance against these perspectives
- The gaps indicate the areas of driving improvement
- Our Continuous Improvement initiatives are focused on the elements
that need improving
