Polypropylene product grades maximise surface quality, stiffness and gloss

Coffee Machine made from polypropyleneBorealis offers a wide range of polypropylene homopolymers, copolymers and random copolymers for many typical small appliances like:

The largest segment Borealis is currently addressing is materials that are used in the outer housing of common household appliances.

Viable solutions for small household appliances

Borealis HF700SA is a PP homopolymer that offers outstanding surface quality and high gloss. This grade contains antistatic agent and long-term heat ageing stabilizers.

Borealis HF700SA is extensively used by Philips and SEB for kettle housings, visible parts on coffee machines and for appliances. This grade exhibits the UL rankings UL94HB, UL746B and UL746A.

Borealis BF335SA is a high fluidity PP copolymer that combines excellent dimensional stability with high gloss. This grade is used by Philips for vacuum cleaner covers. This grade exhibits the UL ranking UL94HB.

Borealis BG 055AI is a high fluidity HCPP copolymer with very high stiffness and outstanding surface properties. It is used to replace ABS, allowing cost savings, ease of par sorting and recycling. This grade exhibits the UL rankings UL94HB and UL746B.

In addition to these speciality grades, Borealis offers a wide portfolio of PP homopolymers and copolymers for functional components. Borealis random copolymers are used extensively where translucency is required. Level indicators, for example, are made of Borealis RD360MO, RF365MO and RJ370MO.
