23.12.2011 -  Borealis increases polyethylene and polypropylene prices
Borealis announces that it will increase all polyethylene and polypropylene prices by EUR 100/tonne for January, 2012.

15.12.2011 -  Borealis Social Fund promotes pupils, students and research programmes in plastics engineering
With its Borealis Social Scholarship Programme, Borealis ensures the sustained promotion of pupils, students and international research programmes years into the future. Long-term contracts have now been signed with the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the TGM Vienna (School of Technology) along with the GFKT - Society for the Advancement of Plastics Technology.

The International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) and Borealis have renewed their exclusive sponsorship contract of the Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi, UAE, starting with the upcoming 2011-2012 football season.

28.09.2011 -  Borealis donates AED 1 million to the Family Development Foundation in Abu Dhabi
Borealis has decided to donate AED 1 million to the Family Development Foundation (FDF) based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.  Established in 2008, the Borealis Social Fund was created to support social projects in the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

22.06.2011 -  Borealis to close two melamine low pressure plants in Linz – availability and quality are secured
Borealis has decided to shut down two melamine low pressure plants with an overall capacity of 30 kilotonnes (kt) per year at its site in Linz, Austria.

19.04.2011 -  Borealis invested EUR 7.8 Mio in new butane storage cavern in Stenungsund, Sweden
Borealis invested EUR 7.8 million to convert a naphta cavern to butane use in its Stenungsund steam cracker plant. The new cavern is by far the largest in Europe and will further optimise the plant’s feed flexibility.

21.03.2011 -  Borealis’ donation to Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy supports water research projects
Borealis announced that the AED 500,000 contribution made to the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy in November 2010 will be used to support two environmental research projects, particularly water sustainability initiatives, across the UAE.

08.03.2011 -  Borealis celebrates groundbreaking of new semi-commercial catalyst plant in Linz
On March 8, Borealis celebrates the groundbreaking of a new semi-commercial plant for catalysts in Linz, Austria. With a total investment of approximately EUR 75 million the company is further expanding its innovation capabilities in plastics.
