Borealis presents customer-focused investments at Wire Russia 2009
20.04.2009
Stand FOA22
May 12 - 15, 2009
Krasnaya Presnya Exhibition Centre, Moscow, Russia
Borealis, the world's leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions for the wire and cable industry, will demonstrate its committed approach to delivering customer-focused innovations and investments at Wire Russia 2009. The new capacity in Sweden and next-generation technologies to boost customers' operating efficiency will be among the topics featured at Stand FOA22 from May 12-15, 2009.
The region's wire and cable customers can look forward to this year's start-up of Borealis' new 350,000 t/y high pressure low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in Stenungsund, Sweden, and modernisation and streamlining of associated facilities at the plant. The security of supply guaranteed by Borealis' EUR 370 million investment strengthens the company's ability to deliver advanced materials from a close proximity location. This is of particular importance to support growth within Russia's low, medium and high voltage cable markets fuelled by continuing improvements to the country's energy and communications infrastructures.
To meet increasing demand for medium and high voltage cross-linked PE (XLPE) power cables in Russia, Borealis will present Wire Russia 2009 visitors its on-going technology developments designed to increase productivity, and achieve cost reductions and energy savings for manufacturers, while ensuring end-users receive the best quality cables. Such advances in its Supercure™ XLPE cable insulation technology will be showcased alongside next-generation low voltage Visico™/Ambicat™ insulation, and Borealis' complete line of pioneering insulation and jacketing products from its Borcell™, Borstar® and Casico™ ranges.
Borealis will reinforce its commitment to supporting customers and the industry with unparalleled technical expertise by hosting a half-day Wire and Cable Academy training seminar during this year's event.
"As the global leader in plastics for the wire and cable industry, Borealis focuses its investment strategy on developing products and manufacturing capability that drive our customers' success," comments Marc Hubert, Borealis' newly-appointed Vice President Wire and Cable. "Our proven track record as a reliable partner with the highest quality standards allows Borealis to work closely with customers on a regional and global level. As a result, we can develop step-change technological solutions that respond directly to the market's needs for production, installation and cable-system lifetime and performance enhancements. Wire Russia 2009 presents a valuable opportunity to get even closer to the issues and challenges affecting the region to ensure we add value where it is most needed."
