Role Purpose:

The credit analyst‘s main purpose is to minimize the credit risk exposure for Borealis while supporting business targets.


Area of responsibility  

  • To analyze the financial statements of current and potential clients in order to determine their financial stability and creditworthiness.
  • To initiate actions that will benefit sales efforts, including offering and explaining creative financing alternatives when risk levels deem necessary.
  • To perform company and industry analysis mitigating pro-actively risks. Credit analyst will work closely with the business to get market knowledge in specific application.
  • To act as a credit representative and interface towards sales organization, expand their network and explain credit control procedure and practicalities.
  • To report regularly on all relevant credit and collection items (such as for example, commercial risk usage, overdue status, DSO and DOO, risk category spread,…). Prepare and maintain quality of monthly credit reporting.
  • To perform customer visits when this could add additional value to the risk assessment of a company or could ease ongoing discussions, including repayment schedule negotiations.


  • You have a very good knowledge of English (corporate language at Borealis) and one other  European language. A good knowledge of French is an asset.
  • You obtained a master’s degree within economics or have equivalent experience in analysing financials.
  • You can work independently and you are not afraid to take decisions.
  • You have good communication and negotiation skills.
  • You have experience in working with targets and tight deadlines.
  • You have a good knowledge of Excel.
  • You learn and work fast, you can think logically and you are proactive.
  • You are willing to travel 2 à 3 times a year.
