We are searching for our next inspiring and achievement oriented Engineering Manager who wants to lead successfully our talents in Engineering team in Porvoo.Are you looking for a change to drive our organisation forward with your expertise? Here is one great opportunity for you!

As an our new Engineering Manager, you are responsible to implement and drive Project Excellence and to ensure that the Borealis project procedures and guidelines are followed.  You will secure build up local engineering and project management expertise and secure that affordable engineering solutions are developed as local process-owner for project execution. You have change to improve performance regarding engineering processes, by sharing best practises, driving local implementation of harmonization, participating in audits and study- / project-reviews in the own, but also other Borealis locations.  As an active member of the Borealis engineering network, you will contribute to the further development of Project Excellence.

In our challenge to exceed, we expect the following from you:

  • You will be responsible to ensure that project processes are followed, engineering expertise is built up and affordable engineering solutions are developed as local engineering process-owner. Has to secure that the studies and projects are staffed with the adequate competences and resources.
  • Together with our engineering partners and contractors the engineering manager applies/develops benchmarks and “What good looks like” routines to continuously improve the processes and the results.
  • You will secure that local projects are executed as per plan and targets are met or exceeded.
  • You will participate in defining/improving Borealis engineering procedures, processes and instructions, following the implementation and perform quality checks accordingly.
  • You will secure the quality of project related documentation, through all phases until project close out, according our requirements and document management procedures, considering improvement potential in quantity and content of deliverables.
  • You will follow-up and communicate the status of the local project portfolio to the relevant stakeholders (e.g. Local leader team).

 

What makes you the perfect fit for this role?

You have a Master’s degree from an acknowledged University and high understanding of the industry, suppliers and customers. To succeed in this role, you have built up excellent knowledge of engineering for chemical industry plants and you are professional in minimum one engineering discipline. We wish you have already some proven ability to lead engineering teams, managing change projects and monitor complexity, diversity and risks.

To lead the local Engineering team, you will need strong people management and co-operational skills and you are mastery of having impact and influence of ongoing matters. You also feel comfortable in making decisions and solving problems under ambiguous situations and fast changing environment. Finally, you should be fluent in both written and spoken Finnish and English.
