Group Expert APC, PTS

We are looking for a candidate to join our corporate engineering team of APC and Automation experts.

You will be supporting Borealis APC installations and investments projects around the globe. You have long experience from APC implementations in the process industry, as well as expertise from working with  control systems and modelling. In addition you will be expected to bring forward and deliver new initiatives linking Borealis needs to the current industry trend, all as part of a highly skilled and motivated team.

Role Purpose

  • To lead and execute APC projects for existing and new plants.
  • To maintain, develop and improve process control solutions.
  • To promote Advanced Process Control (APC) at all Borealis sites.
  • To contribute to strategic planning on plant and group level for APC.


  • Implement APC in Borealis and joint venture plants.
  • Develop interfaces to DCS, RTO, MES and other systems.
  • Give support and troubleshoot existing APC installations.
  • Promote innovative thinking and strive for “fit for purpose” simple solutions.
  • Provide training, advice and expert guidance to plant APC engineers.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Graduate Engineer in Chemical Engineering, Automation and/or Process Control.
  • Trained in Multivariable Process Control.
  • Trained in DCS and basic control.
  • Trained in process modelling and simulations tools.
  • Minimum 10 years experience from work exposed to APC and process control.
  • Minimum 4 years experience from working in petrochemical / base chemical industry.
  • Minimum 4 years experience from APC implementation projects.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.

Other information

  • Willingness to travel on a global basis is a requirement for this position.
  • You will be part of a distributed team of APC & Automation experts in the Digital Enabled Solutions department of Projects & Technical Support.
