We are looking for an Group Expert, Advanced Process Control with specific knowledge in the area of process control or an open minded and talented process engineer, who is willing to grow into this direction.

As you will perform work on running production units you should be able to communicate well in all level of hierarchy from control room operator to senior management as well as in different cultures. Although you will be part of a corporate operation support team, we expect that you will drive projects and development of control systems in cooperation with local and corporate stake holders.

As we see hand on support of local teams as major success factor a high amount business travel is necessary.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

  • Main purpose of the role is the improvement of the profitability and sustainability by applying Advanced Process Control to our production plants in France, Germany and Austria
  • Perform analyses of profit potential and offer advice on improvement potentials by improving process control
  • Hands on support in the fine tuning of control loops on the running plant to improve reliability and efficiency together with local experts
  • Fine tuning of existing APC system to guarantee sustainable performance of units together with local production optimization teams
  • Support the development of new APC applications by applying existing process models (ammonia plants) or development of own solutions for specific process steps in fertilizer plants
  • The number of APC installations cared for will vary depending on complexity and readiness of the controller. A typical number of plants will be 5-6.

Your profile: Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • Graduate engineer in chemical engineering or process control subjects.
  • Training in real time computing systems
  • Minimum 10 years of experience from work exposed to process control issues.
  • Experience from working in petrochemical industry.
  • It is an advantage if you already have experience with advanced process control (e.g. Napcon) or automation systems (e.g. Valmet DNA). You will also be able to communicate fluently in English and French.
