IT Solution Designer, IT Innovation

Are you an innovation-driven, entrepreneurial and tech-savvy person? Do you like working on a strategic and conceptual level? If you are passionate about technologies such as AI, XR, IoT, robotics and 3D printing, you have come to the right place at Borealis!

We are looking for someone who will introduce innovative solutions of value to Borealis by matching technology developments and business opportunities.

Your main areas of responsibility include amongst others:

  • You ensure up-to date understanding of technology developments and scan the market for trends affecting solution offerings.
  • You develop product/solution visions and roadmaps.
  • You meet business innovation representatives regularly to determine which upcoming IT and business trends are relevant for deeper analysis, and then evaluate their potential impact on Borealis business opportunities.
  • You identify technical risks (including data security) inherent to the ideas.
  • You collaborate with stakeholders to create and shape ideas to solutions.
  • You ensure all required architectural decisions are made in accordance with the enterprise architecture governance.
  • You oversee development and testing of prototypes of the new solutions.
  • You document product architecture, provide developers with guidelines and advise for further development of the product.
  • You support projects with your technical insight and expertise.

For this brand new position in our IT Innovation team, we are looking for :

  • A Master’s degree in engineering, computer science or related area.
  • 8 years of work experience, in an international matrix organisation.
  • Experience in design of technical architectures and/or business processes.
  • Knowledge of agile manifesto, Kanban and Scrum.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills, which you use to persuade and influence.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Flexible to travel to other Borealis locations and relevant conferences.
  • Strategical, analytical, conceptual, process and customer oriented thinking.
