Junior Project Manager, InnoTech

The foreseen role is on a junior level and will provide individuals the opportunity to grow their career within the innovation project management career ladder. It will comprise management of major tasks within defined Innovation Projects and management of smaller Innovation Projects. The projects can cover Base Chemical and Polyolefin subjects. 

Contribution 

  • Set-up of the task structures and project structure in the technical opportunity assessment.
  • Together with the Project Manager/Owner define the task/project scope and objectives so that business/technological objectives can be realistically met.
  • Responsible for planning and tracking the task / project in order to accomplish its goals within constraints such as time, cost budget and agreed quality standards.
  • Work directly with the team members and/or with task leaders to estimate effort, plan activities and negotiate consensus among individual team members on their appointed tasks.
  • Continuously monitor progress in terms of the status of the plan; anticipate and catch deviations from a plan or schedule early and keep all participants and stakeholders informed.
  • Identify, log, analyse and manage potential and actual issues and risks, taking corrective action by tackling day-to-day issues head on and reviewing how more serious issues and risks might impact on scope, schedule, quality and cost.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • College diploma or university degree, educational background in engineering or chemistry is a plus
  • Basic level project management training and understanding
  • Fluent in English language
  • 3 years experience in project work, ideally with projects in (chemical) industry and technical surrounding
  • Basic commercial understanding, basic legal understanding needed for Open Innovation agreements
  • Good negotiating and presentation skills

Other information

This position reports to: Head of Innovation Project Management Office

Location: Linz 

Following Austrian law regulations we offer a competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 57.350,-- annual gross salary if experience is provided as stated above. In addition we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
