What this role offers to you:

  • The role holder contributes to the implementation of an optimized logistic network for Borealis Nitrogen in Europe in the field of rail and river logistics by managing and optimizing the logistics, transport quality and transport costs
  • Responsibility for relevant transport countries, product groups and groups of dedicated freight forwarders. Independent management of these freight forwarder groups & regions
  • Creation and management of the transport framework conditions for our transport scheduling organization and smooth handling of transports in the respective area
  • Interface between our transport dispatch and freight forwarders for questions, problems and the search for logistics solutions
  • Responsible for the implementation and continuous optimization of the defined logistics strategy in the assigned logistics area and the relevant freight forwarder groups and internal stakeholders
  • Independent implementation of complete transport tenders for our own logistics area
  • In cooperation with the Sr. Specialist Logistics, a reliable freight forwarder base must be procured, selected, contracted and a reliable freight forwarder base managed. Monitor the performance of logistics service providers to control and improve service levels and reduce costs
  • Continuously monitor the freight markets and react to changes in good time to optimize logistics costs. Observe trends and market developments and examine potential risks and opportunities and what adequate reactions to them can look like in your area
  • Actively participate in the progressive shaping of the digitization of our logistics area
  • Participate and proactively support logistics or cross-functional projects as a project team member

About you

  • You have a business / commercial university degree / FH or a similar secondary business education ideally with a focus on logistics
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in logistics
  • Preferably experience in the chemical industry
  • Fluent German and English skills in spoken and written
  • An understanding of the transport market and its regulations is an advantage as well as experience in negotiations and transport tenders
  • Good knowledge of standard MS Office applications (esp. Excel)
  • Experience in dealing with ERP, preferably SAP and Application for Office (AfO)
  • You are an absolute team player and a high level of commitment distinguishes you, as well as
  • Strong social skills
  • Very good communication and presentation skills
  • Negotiation skills & networking skills
  • Ownership
  • Flexibility and openness to developments and changes
  • Stress resistance

Required language levels:

  • English: Professional knowledge, written and spoken

About Borealis and our offer

This position is full-time, permanent and will report to the Sr. Specialist Logistics, Rail CE & River Shipping, BU Fertilizer and TEN

The location is Austria, Linz

We offer competitive remuneration starting with an annual gross salary of € 49.804,58 based on the collective agreement for employees of the chemical industry, as well as variable remuneration and a pension fund system.
