Do you have a master degree and solid experience in analytical, laboratory or research and development environment? Do you also have strong leadership and interpersonal skills, is high achieving and want to work in a growing multinational company – then you can be the one we are looking for!

At the Innovation Centre in Stenungsund, we work in an international environment with the development of new products and applications for polyolefins, especially for the cable market. As manager for the laboratories, you lead three teams with team leaders reporting to you, in total about 45 employees and 6 direct reports. The laboratories are Application Hall, Analytical and Physical Testing, and Material and Application Testing. A major investment in a new high-voltage testing centre was recently inaugurated, in order to meet the ever-increasing demand from our internal and external customers. We are facing several exciting challenges ahead and we hope you will join our journey.

You have a solid experience in analytical methods and application testing as well as a good understanding of polymer compounding, and wire and cable process technology for polyolefins. Working closely with Borealis Innovation Head Quarter in Linz as well as with industry leaders, you will guarantee sustainable advanced and differentiated industry standards of test methods for product evaluation and development. You will guarantee a laboratory infrastructure to support R&D strategies, as well as continuously monitor quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the overall laboratory operations.

Contribution:

  • Manage HSE, create awareness and commitment for safety and ensure a clean and safe work environment for all employees and visitors. Ensure compliance with labour law and legal compliance of entire equipment and monitors regularly
  • Set direction, engage, inspire and develop people
  • Manage fast and efficient execution of tests to support the polyolefin business units and the R&D organisation. Manage performance by engaging laboratory KPIs
  • Guarantee highest industry standards for Borealis analytical testing
  • Conceptually design the laboratory infrastructure to support R&D strategies
  • Define scientific competence needs for lab teams and staff
  • Motivate and ensure the networking and the cross-functional team-working
  • Pro-actively initiate, build and maintain relevant external partnerships and networks with industry leaders and leading universities

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • MSc or PhD degree in relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Advanced Polyolefin know-how in our area is meritorious
  • International work experience
  • Negotiation-proof English
