For our Borealis Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) team in Beringen-Belgium, we are looking for an inspiring Material Flow Scheduler.

Your tasks

You are responsible for scheduling & executing all activities related to material flow while following up the day to day operational performance. You develop a cost minimized tool supported schedule for packaging and storage facilities and provide feedback on schedule feasibility to production scheduling and supply planning. You also are responsible for correct availability on packaging level.


As a material flow scheduler, these will be your main tasks:

  • You translate the production schedule into a cost-minimized detailed packaging, silo and storage schedule and arrange call-offs for packaging material at suppliers.
  • You develop a cost-optimized inventory deployment schedule at the location, define the amount of material to be transferred to overflow storage locations, and create reservations for the transport.
  • You participate in alignment meetings with the material handling organisation in order to drive and continuously improve the material flow schedule quality and to ensure proper risk management and asset effectiveness.
  • You maintain all material flow related parameters in SAP and other optimisation tools for system guided scheduling.
  • You manage local inventory of packaging materials, schedule orders and reduce slow moving stock and ensure accuracy of stock levels by following up timely and accurate good receipts.
  • You act as first contact for our overflow storage locations and will take care of the invoicing process for their activities.


Your profile

Do you strive to get the best result? Do you have great analysis and conceptualisation skills? Do you have a basic S&OP understanding, preferably Supply Chain professional training (APICS or similar)?

If you have a solid professional know-how in S&OP, preferentially through being responsible of different steps of S&OP process in the past, then we would be delighted for you to join us.

Furthermore, you have Bachelor degree in a related field (Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain) and 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial, business, operations or supply chain environment preferably in the polyolefin industry.

You have great presentation skills and you are fluent in English and Dutch.

You also have good knowledge of SAP-APO general and SAP-PPDS tool.

Finally, you have strong influencing skills and you are able to translate complex situations into simple terms. You set direction, engage and inspire people!
