We are looking for an outstanding Safety Expert for Construction Site in Kilpilahti, Porvoo.

Porvoo location has continuously ongoing turnarounds and execution projects, which are defined as Construction Sites by Finnish legislation. Our new Safety Expert will be legally responsible and has a mandate, authority and competence to act as client’s representative as a construction site safety coordinator. Role holder secures continuous improvement on location HSE coordination on turnarounds and projects: stakeholder management, onboarding, training, communication and safety performance with sharing the best practise.

As an expert in Safety matters, these will be your main responsibilities:

  • You will lead construction site HSE planning in cooperation with other HSE responsible persons and plant HSE teams.
  • You will define HSE roles and responsibilities and ensure smooth processes
  • You will build HSE confidence between all parties and coordinate contractor onboarding in cooperation with responsible persons of maintenance.
  • Preparation of contractor seminar and kick-off meetings together with Turnaround Manager. Organize the contractor communication planning process before, during and after execution.
  • You will participate in negotiations with contractors. Contractor HSE management, engagement and training coordination in cooperation with local HSE representatives
  • During execution phase, you will make sure, that good HSE processes are followed as per HSE plan and monitor HSE performance.
  • During Close out period, your responsibility is to prepare HSE lessons learned report and communicate effectively to all stakeholders. You will also align learnings to the next turnarounds and projects HSE planning


What we expect from our ideal candidate

You have a Technical Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from an acknowledged University. In order to succeed in this position you should have 5-10 years of experience from construction sites (project management, safety coordinator) or chemical industry (plant safety, maintenance, projects or operations). We highly appreciate the hands-on experience in mitigating risks and managing safety in construction sites or chemical plant projects. In this role, you will need strong people management, presentation and training skills. You are also an excellent communicator in Finnish and in English, both oral and written.
