Do you also have excellent problem solving ability, high ambitions and drive, and want to work in a growing multinational company. Do you have an MSc and/or PhD in relevant field (chemistry, physics, material science, polymer engineering/processing or equivalent) – then you can be the one we are looking for!

The purpose of the role is to develop novel polymers and polymer compounds targeting mainly Energy & Infrastructure applications. You will be working in an international, cross-functional team, where you will be involved in all aspects of product development; project management, polymer design and production. Our good team spirit and interaction/cooperation enable step-change innovations and value creation.

These are the responsibilities of the role:

  • Perform R&D work to develop new polymers and compounds.
  • Translate market requirements into polymer properties, especially for low-density polyethylene.
  • Interaction with production plants including optimization of polymer compositions
  • Initiate and support patenting of new polymers and products.
  • Establish continuous interfaces with internal and external customers/suppliers in order to optimize development and utilization of own expertise.
  • Act and work according to Borealis values.

There might be a synergy between you and Borealis if you have...

  • MSc or PhD degree in relevant field
  • Understanding of the relations between structure, processing and properties of polymers.
  • Understanding of polymerisation process and industrial polymer production
  • Experimental design skills.
  • Excellence in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Documentation, presentation and reporting skills
