Are you interested in research and technology development? Based in our international Innovation Headquarter in Austria, Linz, you will have the chance to put your knowledge in the field of organic chemistry, petro chemistry or hydrocarbon process chemistry to good use. Within Borealis' R&D organisation the Innotech Process Technology team works mainly in the field of Base Chemicals process innovation.

 

Your main tasks and responsibilities in this role:

  • Responsible for research and technology development in line with our innovation objectives
  • Act as an expert in the field of hydrocarbon process chemistry and hydrocarbon intermediates
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of Borealis chemical process technologies
  • Responsible for the development of lab testing methods, knowledge transfer and training of new methods within lab teams
  • Initiate new R&D projects and identify new R&D topics in the field of Borealis Hydrocarbon & Energy business
  • Manage R&D projects according to Borealis project management standards
  • Interact strongly with colleagues in Operations and Business of Borealis
  • Manages and/or realise research projects with universities or other partners
  • Contribute to improve HSE&Q performance and to maintain highest HSE&Q standards

 

Knowledge, skills and experience:

For this role, you will need a PhD degree and background in one of these fields: organic chemistry, petrochemistry, hydrocarbon chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis or similar. You should have at least 3 years of industrial experience in chemistry or in case of master education, at least 5 years of experience in relevant fields. It would be great if you already worked in chemical / physical / material lab testing and with analysis techniques. Your general knowledge and understanding focusses on industrial chemical processes and more precise on hydrocarbon technologies.

As our company language is English, you should be fluent in this language, both written and spoken.

You will collaborate and network in teams and projects, and should therefore be a good communicator - preferably even willing and able to lead a small team of colleagues. We presume that personal strengths like analytical, conceptual, innovative and creative thinking are already your second nature as a scientist.

 

We offer a competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 61.167,54 annual gross salary. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
