We are looking for a Senior Specialist, IT SAP BI Solutions with specific knowledge in the area of:

  • Data Modelling flow from Source System (SAP) to BI (BW)
  • BIIP Solutions
  • Analysis for Office (AFO)as reporting tool
  • SAP ERP basic landscape knowledge
  • Power BI (is an asset)

Contribution

  • Drive business process optimisation with focus on improvements of the assigned application.
  • Safeguard information security in order to prevent data loss and to guarantee confidentiality, including being an ambassador for preventive risk management in the areas of applications (e.g. screening OSS messages etc.) and the assigned databases.
  • Develop functional, non-functional and technical specifications together with business representatives.
  • Define technical specifications (incl. specifying capacity and landscape requirements beyond the installed base, data-pipelines and ETLs) in close cooperation with other IT & Solutions
  • Develop the conceptual design and/or architecture of solutions supporting business processes in cooperation with the business representatives and vendor development/functional leads
  • Provide customer care and ensure adequate quality of selected services by handling critical and escalated incidents & requests on or beyond company level in close cooperation with business representatives and drive root-cause analysis and long-term solutions beyond the installed technology at Nitro. Initiate, drive and implement application and business process improvements based on external and internal customer input and own expertise.
  • Ensure the realization of solutions and perform quality assurance, including operational vendor management.
  • Participate actively in the work of waterfall and agile teams (scrum) of the assigned projects, by co-planning, co-prioritising, and co-evaluating the teamwork and executing the tasks agreed with the team members.
  • Drive the integration within solutions to reduce complexity. Follow-up proactively on technology and business trends and application enhancements (e.g. new releases) and new or alternative products. Influence and challenge the business with these insights.
  • Provide expert knowledge and guidance related to the assigned group of applications and the related SAP ecosystem. Influence business and IT stakeholders to obtain confirmation/sign-off of new solutions and their implementation.
  • Provide active stakeholder management advice and functional support by
    • continuous improvement, adaptation and harvesting of existing IT solutions;
    • driving evaluation, consulting and implementation of new IT solutions;
    • driving challenging business requests, proposing and requesting innovation solutions.
    • in order to contribute to the generation of business value.
  • Actively contributes in international and virtual teams.
  • Knowledge sharing with colleagues within and outside the IT function through
    • building and driving cross functional Key User network (best practices),
    • benchmarking and network events (KU meetings),
    • mentoring junior colleagues and,
    • playing a driving role in international and virtual teams.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 5 -7 years of IT work experience in an international matrix organisation
  • Proficiency in one or more technology environments.
  • Solid understanding of the organisation, the work processes and the way systems and applications are used by the business partners.
  • Knowledge of agile manifesto, values, principles and practices such as Kanban and Scrum.
  • Fluency (reading, writing and speaking) in English
  • Analytical, conceptual, process and customer oriented thinking (productive partnerships)
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Initiative: proactively identifies opportunities and suggests ideas & solutions
  • Good communication and persuasion skills
  • Teamwork & cooperation
  • Project work and working in a scrum as team member, applying common agile practices (working in self-organizing multifunctional teams etc.)

About Borealis and our offer

We offer a competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement the chemical industries starting at EUR 69.500, -- annual gross salary, a yearly bonus and other fringe benefits including a voluntary pension plan. The actual payment depends on the respective qualification or professional experience. We will determine the actual amount in a personal interview. Significant over-payment is possible with appropriate suitability.
