Would you like to work in a strategic role that gives you a great opportunity to make a difference?  We are looking for a Site Optimiser for our cracker and aromatics plant in Porvoo, Finland.

As a Site Optimiser you will play a key role in the cracker process and profitability – it is your job to determine how the production is run.  You will ensure maximum operating profit for the plants and significantly contribute to the bottom line EBIT of the business unit Hydrocarbons&Energy. This difference-making role can also be a step-up for a managerial position in the future.  


It is your role to:

  • Perform technical/economic analyses, identify production optimum and set guidelines for operational and commercial actions
  • Be a key interface between the business unit and the production teams
  • Ensure that the production is always technically optimised
  • Advise and guide commercial teams for commercial decision taking
  • Act as a business unit interface in projects and investments impacting feedstock, product or production rate


Your profile

Do you believe we can improve our future by exploring new possibilities and pushing the boundaries beyond the already established? Then we are curious to meet you. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have a master’s degree (engineering or business) and/or minimum of 5 years of experience in process and/or operational environment. You have strong financial literacy, analytical skills, and excellent reporting and presentation skills. We hope you have a background in the field of chemical industry and you have good commercial understanding. In Borealis, safety is priority number one, so you have a strong focus to proactively promote and drive health, safety and environmental awareness and behaviour. Finally, you should be fluent in both written and spoken English.
