Borealis, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers, has announced it will present AED 1.5 million to support the UAE Disabled Sports Federation to raise awareness about the needs of the disabled. As in previous years, this amount has been made possible by the Borealis Social Fund which was launched in 2008 and whose aim is to contribute to the social welfare of the communities in which Borealis operates.

“A healthy environment and stable society are the prerequisites for developing a successful business,” says Mark Garrett, Borealis Chief Executive. “Borealis is committed to giving something back in the locations where we operate. Our support to the UAE Disabled Sports Federation will help raise public awareness about the special needs of the disabled and facilitate their active integration into society.”

“We very much appreciate the social tradition Borealis has established in supporting the educational and social work in the UAE community,” comments H.E. Mohammed M. Fadhel Al Hameli, Deputy Chairman, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs and Chairman of the UAE Disabled Sports Federation. “Together, we are helping people with special needs to continue their journey of excellence, armed with their strong will and motivation to achieve success in winning local, regional and international championships.”
