On 18 March 2019 Borealis received the 2019 Foreign Investment of the Year Trophy from Flemish Prime Minister Geert Bourgeois. With this Award, Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) honours an exceptional investment by an international company in Flanders.
With this initiative, FIT is highlighting the socio-economic importance of foreign direct investment for the seventh year in a row.
Borealis is investing EUR 1 billion into the construction of a new propane dehydrogenation plant on its existing site in Kallo, at the Port of Antwerp, Belgium. “We feel honoured and proud to have won the FIT trophy”, comments Borealis CEO Alfred Stern. “Our investment strengthens Flanders’ position as an industry location, creates additional employment, and enables us to supply our customers with end products in a competitive and sustainable way.
