On 7 June Borealis has been recognised with 2 brand awards in course of this years’ German Brand Awards ceremony in Berlin for its continued excellence in brand strategy and brand creation.

The German Brand Award is presented by the German Design Council and honours successful brands, consistent brand management and sustainable brand communication. The award is divided into the competition classes of “Excellent Brands” and “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation” and honours the best product and corporate brands in a particular industry as well as the strongest campaigns, concepts and strategies in individual disciplines.

An independent panel of experts from the brand industry and brand science invites brands to participate that have attracted the attention of the German Design Council due to their brand management and demonstrably stand out from the competition due to their quality.

With more than 1,250 entries from 19 countries, the 2019 German Brand Award was met with a great international response. A total of 60 projects and brands were awarded “Gold”: 24 in the competition class “Excellent Brands”, 36 in “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation”.

After the brand repositioning of Borealis in 2014,all efforts over the last few years in establishing a recognisable, differentiating and strong company brand, even beyond the Polyolefin industry, seem to be paying off.

Specifically the recently launched “EverMinds™” programme of Borealis, which establishes a holistic circular economy system and is just one of the many steps that we as Borealis have been taking to bring about lasting change both in industry and in society and therefore, further evolving our brand reputation in the years to come.

Based on this Borealis has been awarded the “Winner” label of the German Brand Award in the categories “Brand Communication – Business Model & Product Innovation”

“We are very pleased with this reputative external recognition for all our dedicated efforts in consistently profiling and sharpening the positioning of Borealis over the last years. A strong brand reputation will support us in generating and capturing business value for Borealis long-term”, said Alfred Stern, Borealis CEO. “We are nevertheless very well aware that proactively driving and evolving our brand reputation will continue to be a joint everyday effort of all Borealis employees”, said Andreas Hummel, Head of Communications (ai).
