Borealis is one of the world's leading providers of advanced and circular polyolefin solutions and the European market leader in the mechanical recycling of plastics. The headquarters with around 300 employees is located in Vienna. The international innovation headquarters with its own catalyst production plant is located in Linz. The Schwechat site produces polypropylene and polyethylene as raw materials for the plastics processing industry. As Austria's first ISCC PLUS-certified mechanical polyolefin recycler, the Borealis site in Wildon, Ecoplast, processes post-consumer plastics from households into high-quality LDPE and HDPE recyclates.
Borealis has several locations in Belgium and the Netherlands: 4 production plants from 5 locations in those 2 countries. With approx. 1400 employees in production, sales and support services.
Borealis produces base chemicals and polyolefins at Porvoo, Kilpilahti. A fully integrated petrochemical complex comprise seven plants: a cracker for the production of olefins, a phenol and aromatics plant, two plants for polyethylene (one is a Borstar® plant), one plant for polypropylene, one compounding unit and a catalyst plant. It employs around 900 persons.

Borealis is represented by three locations in Germany. At the Burghausen site, around 240 employees operate two production plants for polypropylene with a total capacity of approximately 560,000 tonnes per year. mtm plastics, with its two sites in Niedergebra and Fürstenwalde, is recognized as a technology leader in the recycling of mixed post-consumer plastic waste and is one of Europe's largest producers of post-consumer recyclates.

Borealis is represented by two locations in Italy. The production facility in Monza is a compounding production unit with a total of about 100 employees. It produces specific PP compounds mainly for the automotive and appliances markets. Rialti in Taino has established itself as market leader in the European polypropylene compounds industry for injection moulding and extrusion.
Borealis, Sweden's only polyethylene (PE) producer, is located in Stenungsund. With 950 employees, it is the largest employer in the city's industrial cluster. In Stenungsund, production is focused on wire & cable manufacturing, and the company supplies special plastics to some of the world's largest energy, oil, and water pipeline projects.

Borealis is represented by one location in Bulgaria. Based in Elin Pelin, Integra Plastics AD operates a modern advanced mechanical recycling plant built in 2019 with state-of-the-art equipment. Integra Plastics has the ability to transform post-consumer waste into high quality polyolefin recyclates suitable for demanding applications with a yearly production capacity of more than 20,000 metric tonnes. Since 2024 Integra Plastics AD is part of the Borealis Group, one of the world’s leading providers of advanced and sustainable polyolefin solutions.
