Company Park
Providing children with the skills needed for solving complex problems and preparing them for a future work life is an important element of a good educational system. Therefore, in 2020, Borealis started its partnership with TAT Company Park, a Finnish learning concept recognized as the world's best education innovation by the World Economy Forum in 2016. Established in 2010, it offers to school children positive experiences of working life, economy, the society and encourages entrepreneurship.
Providing Children with a Real-Life Experience of Working Life
The TAT Company Park consists of installations of around 20 miniature businesses in a 700m2 space in Helsinki, targeted towards 6th and 9th graders. Borealis, together with the Company Park, have installed a miniature Borealis, where pupils, where pupils can play the roles of typical Borealis employees, e.g. the role as a CEO, sales manager, researcher, or a process engineer and experience what it means to manage business related topics. This includes, for example customer support, safety, quality, circular economy, recycling or carbon neutrality. The concept includes a teacher training and preparatory classes followed by a visit to the Company Park.
